4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Bisoke Hike takes you to Volcanoes National Park for an exciting gorilla trekking and later hike Mountain Bisoke to the summit.
Volcanoes National Park is the best place to do gorilla trekking, the misty forest is home to a huge population of the endangered mountain gorillas, the park is also home to other wildlife species including the endangered golden monkeys, cape buffaloes, black-fronted duikers and bush backs among others.

Detailed itinerary of 4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Bisoke Hike
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali City and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will give you a short briefing about the safari before beginning your drive to Volcanoes National Park. If you arrive early, you will have a Kigali City Tour visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and several crafts shops.
After lunch you will drive to Volcanoes National Park which is approximately 2 -3 hours’ drive away. Arrive in the afternoon, head to your lodge for relaxation or go for a local village visit for an opportunity to learn about the local people, their way of life and even taste some local dishes.
Overnight at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.
Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
Wake up early for breakfast, meet your guide and head to the park headquarters where you will join other trekkers for briefing about gorilla trekking and the right to behave while in the presence of the gorillas. In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek, head into the forests looking for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night, you are allowed to spend only one hour in the presence of the gorillas watching them go on with their life in the forest, observe them play, feed and groom each other. You are allowed to take as many photos as you wish.
After trekking, if time permits. You will be taken to Ruhengeri for a tour to the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. In the late afternoon, you will return to your lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Hike the Bisoke Volcano
After breakfast you will be taken to the basecamp of the Volcano for briefing, head to the start point for the climb.
Mount Bisoke has a spectacular crater lake on top, the climb takes approximately 3 to 6 hours depending on your abilities, and 1-2 hours to descend. The hike begins at 7 am with a briefing, and set off around 8. Porters are assigned to carry your luggage. After the hike, you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Departure
After breakfast, you will be picked up at your lodge and drive back to Kigali City. Depending on your flight schedule you will a Kigali City Tour exploring the cleanliest city in Africa more. Later you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home bringing your safari to an end.
