Detailed itinerary of 8 Days Tanzania Safari Holiday

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your personal Rowin Africa guide who will greet you with a big smile. The guide takes you straight to your hotel in Arusha where you can relax and take in the African atmosphere. Have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast you will meet your guide and embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park which is a drive of approximately 2 hours, the park is well known for its big groups of elephants and huge amount of giant baobab trees. These iconic trees have ability to live for hundreds of years and are actually a source of water for elephants most especially in the dry season as they have a special technique to draw water from them.

Tarangire River which flows through the park is the only source of water in the dry season, which is why you can see groups of up to 250 elephants in Tarangire and other animals during the dry season.

During game drive in Tarangire National Park, look out for several animals including herds of elephants, zebras, buffaloes m baboons, giraffes among others.

Day 3 – 5: Serengeti National Park (central west/east)

Spend the three days exploring the endless plains of Serengeti National Park and discover why it is one of the greatest wildlife safari destination in the region, the Serengeti is widely known as the best place to go on a safari mainly because of the Great Migration that passes through here.

The enormous, stampeding herds are impressive as well as the vast amounts of predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs that live here. You will also enjoy sightings of several other beautiful wildlife species including cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, wildebeests, elands, gazelles, rhinos and many beautiful birds.

During these three days of exploring Serengeti you will have picnic lunch and there several optional activities to do that is hot air balloon and Maasai Village Visit.

Day 6: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater with a visit at Olduvai Gorge

Leave Serengeti behind and head to Ngorongoro Crater with en-route game drive in the Serengeti Plains and en-route lunch, have a visit at the Olduvai Gorge – a fascinating paleoanthropological site and one of the most important site in the world.

Olduvai Gorge is set between Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park, the site is where Dr. Leakey and his wife discovered the fossils of man which were the centre of explaining human revolution. There is a museum displaying various remains and fossils discovered in the area.

Continue to your lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Conservation Area (incl. Crater)

Explore Ngorongoro Crater on a full day crater game drive.

The famous Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s seven natural wonders, the crater was formed about two million years ago when a vast volcano erupted. The fertile lava left behind created a unique ecosystem which is now home to the highest concentration of animals found anywhere in Africa.

Once in the crater, you will enjoy sightings of several animals such as lions, zebras, buffaloes and black rhinos and flamingoes on the shores of Lake Magadi in the corner of the crater.

Day 8: The last day and your flight home from Kilimanjaro Int. Airport
