Detailed itinerary of 7 Days Exploring Kenya Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Samburu Game Reserve

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our Rowin Africa Safari Tour Guide and embark on a journey to Samburu. Arrive in time for your lunch at your camp.

Later go for an afternoon game drive. Samburu Game Reserve is one of the most beautiful national parks in the Northern Circuit, the reserve is home to the most indigenous wildlife and as well as the home of African elephants and beautiful species of zebras and the reticulated giraffes.

Dinner and overnight at Larsens Camp

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Samburu Game Reserve

Enjoy an early morning breakfast and start a full day safari in Samburu Game Reserve with packed lunch. The riverine forest along the Ewaso Nyero River, dry acacias and termite mounds from this incredibly beautiful reserve.

Samburu Game Reserve offers great opportunities to observe wildlife and four of the Big Five are present (rhinos are absent) including big herds of elephants, leopard sightings among others.

The whole day is dedicated to exploring the park for a whole day game drive, ending the afternoon with a beautiful sundowner.

Day 3: Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast, you will bid farewell to Samburu and transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy with picnic lunch en-route.

When you arrive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, embark on an afternoon safari immersing yourself in the wild wonders of Kenya. Witness elephants, lions and giraffes thriving in their natural habitat, Ol Pejeta Conservancy is dedicated to rhino conservation allowing glimpses of both black and white rhinos.  Guided through the diverse landscapes, this captivating experience captures the essence of the conservancy’s wildlife, leaving you with memories of the untamed beauty that defines this renowned conservation sanctuary.

Dinner and overnight at The River Camp – Ol Pejeta

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, depart to Lake Nakuru National Park. Across the equator, southwards of Bogoria, lies the rift valley’s most famous Lake Nakuru. The lake is known all over the world for its flamingoes, it is alkaline and is recognized as being one of the natural wonders of the world.

Lake Nakuru National Park is a rhino sanctuary, hosting a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingoes, have always been the main attraction. At times there may be almost 2 million flamingoes along the banks of the lake, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band.

Arrive in time for lunch then have an afternoon game drive.

Day 5: Maasai Mara National Reserve

Enjoy breakfast, checkout of the lodge and drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. The reserve is one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed, in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti Ecosystem, Masai Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeests, zebras and predators.

Arrive in time for lunch then have an afternoon game drive.

Dinner and overnight at Mara Bush Camp

Day 6: Maasai Mara National Reserve

Spend a full day on game drives in Maasai Mara. After breakfast, head to Mara with packed lunch for a full day game drive, the reserve is well known for its black-manned lion, as well as its abundant resident wildlife and it is one of the few places where it is possible to see the Big Five during a morning’s game drive.

Here you will see abundant wildlife including cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and over 500 species recorded, including 16 species of eagle, 8 species of storks, 4 of bustards including the Kori bustard – the world’s heaviest flying birds.

Day 7: Departure

Have morning game drive in Mara and depart to Nairobi with en-route lunch, arriving in afternoon and be dropped off at the airport to catch your departure flight back home.
