Detailed itinerary of 5 Days Gorilla Habituation and Chimp trekking Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Forest
You will be picked by Rowin Africa Safari guide to start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with Equator crossing in Kayabwe and lunch in Mbarara Town. You will then proceed to the Southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arrive in evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Drive time: 9-10 hours

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience
You will wake up early in the morning and head to the park headquarters to join other visitors for briefing about dos and don’ts with mountain gorillas on your habituation experience. After briefing you will be grouped into 4 and start your trek into the forest guided by researchers and guides.
During your trek, you may encounter several birds, other animals and primates in the forest and once you have found the gorillas, you will spend four hours with the gorillas together with researchers and scientists as you learn about how gorillas get used to being accustomed to human presence. You will have an opportunity to listen and observe researchers doing their work of habituating gorillas and if possible you will be called upon to participate by collecting samples, naming of group members, making calls and so much more.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will drive from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Kibale Forest National Park with en-route lunch. Arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale Forest National Park for briefing about dos and donts about chimpanzee trekking. In groups of 8 people, you will be trek through the rainforests with chances of seeing other 11 primates in the forest. You will spend one hour in the forest with guides observing the chimpanzees and take amazing pictures.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast and depending on your departure flight, you will drive 5-6 hours to Kampala/Entebbe marking the end of your Uganda Primate Safari.
