Detailed itinerary of 4 Days Classic Maasai Mara Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Depart from Nairobi after breakfast at your hotel and drive along the floor of the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Check in, enjoy lunch and get ready for the afternoon game drive followed by dinner and overnight at Sekenani Camp

Day 2: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Have breakfast then head out with a picnic lunch at the Mara River, hoping to see a dramatic river crossing or two. It is quite some sight to see the massed herds take a leap of faith into the Mara or Talek Rivers with Nile crocodiles lying in wait for them. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 3: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Spend a full day exploring Maasai Mara Game Reserve in search of the Big 5 and trailing the wildebeest Migration on morning and afternoon game drives. An optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 500 per person.

Maasai Mara National Reserve offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that is difficult to believe, over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dog, buffaloes, leopards, elephants and many kinds of antelopes.

The Wildebeest Migration is perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world, this annual migration of millions of wildebeests and zebras from the Serengeti in Tanzania move to the endless plains of Maasai Mara in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savannah – lion, cheetahs, wild dogs, jackals, hyenas and vultures. Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Transfer Back to Nairobi, Departure

This is the last day of your Maasai Mara Safari, have early morning pre-breakfast first followed by game drives till around 930 hours bidding bye to the mara predators, back to the camp for full breakfast first them proceed to Nairobi with en-route lunch arriving late afternoon. Your driver will drop you off either at the hotel or at the airport to catch your departure back home.
