Detailed itinerary of 11 Days Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Holiday
Day 1: Arrival
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your safari guide, who will be with you for the rest of your safari, and drive to your hotel in Arusha. Enjoy a great meal and a relaxing evening before starting your Tanzania safari the next day.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast you will set off from Arusha and make your way through the local village en-route to Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch boxes and enjoy game drive before you check into your safari lodge late in the afternoon.
Tarangire comes second to Serengeti in terms of the greatest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania. In the dry season, the Tarangire River is a magnet for thirsty wildlife. The park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and large herds of elephants.

Day 3: Karatu
In the morning after breakfast you will drive towards Karatu, stopping en-route at Mto wa Mbu, a culturally vibrant town, for a market visit.
The Karatu area gives you the opportunity to experience a variety of different local activities. You will have the option of canoeing, biking or hiking, or including one or several local experience. Learn about a multitude of things and see a different side of Tanzania before checking into your losge close to the Ngorongoro Crater rim for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, you will head to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend the 600 meters (2,000 ft) into Ngorongoro Crater for superb game viewing with picnic lunch boxes.
The Ngorongoro Crater is a natural enclosure supporting 20,000 – 30,000 animals at any time making it virtually a Noah’s ark and inhabiting almost every species of wildlife that is indigenous to East Africa. The Ngorongoro Crater is considered one of the natural wonders of the world and has the highest densities of predators in Africa such as lions, hyenas and leopards. It is one of the best places in Africa to see the endangered black rhino.
Spend a full day in the crater, and in the late afternoon, slowly begin to climb out of the crater and head to your safari lodge on the rim of the crater for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5 -7: Central Serengeti
After breakfast you will leave Ngorongoro Conservation Area and head to the Central Serengeti, which is famed for its terrific cat sightings. As you head to the Central region, you will see why the name Serengeti in local language means “endless plains”.
The Serengeti, together with Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, form Africa’s most famous wildlife ecosystem. The image of acacia trees on an endless grass plains epitomizes African for many. The annual wildebeest migration through the Serengeti is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet, with almost two million animals following the rains. But that is not where the game viewing ends. You will encounter large prides of lions, elephants and giraffes in grasslands, gazelles and elands to mention but a few.
Aside from the normal game viewing safaris in a 4×4 vehicle, participate in hot-air ballooning over the Serengeti Plains has become almost essential. Spend three days exploring Serengeti.

Day 8-10: Zanzibar
Day 7 is your last morning in Serengeti National Park. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast or perhaps head out early for a short morning game drive before traveling to Seronera Airstrip to catch your domestic flight to Zanzibar.
Zanzibar is a beautiful island off the east coast of Tanzania, this magnificent island has pearl white beaches, a clear blue sea and pleasant temperatures. During your holiday on this beautiful island, you will have the opportunity to take a tour through historical Stone Town, visit the Spice Plantations, do some island hopping or simply relax on the beach. You will stay here for 3 nights.

Day 11: Departure
After a leisurely breakfast, you will be picked up by your driver and transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your international flight back home.
